12 X 12 Layout: Christmas 2010

I hope you are enjoying the last few days of 2010! Today, I would like to share a layout of my two boys with Santa Claus. My little one doesn't seem to like Santa very much in the picture, but considering it was his first time sitting on Santa's lap, he did pretty good.

Supplies used:

Paper - Echo Park Merry Christmas collection
Embellishments - Prima flowers/bling, Webster's pages trim

Prima Parking Lot Sale Haul

My sister and I went to the Prima Parking Lot Sale last weekend. I was a little disappointed because I was expecting more products to choose from. But, I was happy with the things I picked up, especially the “Got Flowers?” crate! I'm also excited about the canvas albums (hmm..did someone say Glimmer mists?)!

My Sizzix Warehouse Sale Haul

I've been waiting for a Sizzix Warehouse Sale for the longest time and was really excited when I saw the announcement on the Sizzix's website for this year's sale. I found a few items on my wishlist (yeah!) and grab a few other really good bargains. :) Here's my haul:

Bigz XL Dies

Tim Holtz Dies (of course!)

Originals and Bigz Dies
(I love the penguin so much. I don't know why,
but he makes me smile)

Texture Folders

I can't wait to play with all these goodies! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Album: Christmas 2009

I love coffee and normally make mine's at home before heading to work. The other morning, I treated myself to a Peppermint Mocha with all the trimmings (whipped cream and dark chocolate curls) from Starbucks. Wow, I got more than caffeine from this cup of Java...I got into "Christmas" mode. yeah! My favorite time of the year! So with this, I decided to start making our Christmas 2009 album (I normally make my Christmas album after the holiday, but who knows, maybe this year it'll be different). Here's a few sneak peeks! I'm using American Craft's Merrymint collection. I've used this collection for a prior Christmas album, but they have so many different patterned papers that I hardly had any duplicates between the two albums.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Veteran's Day!

Heidi Grace's Sweet Whimsey Paper Bag Album

Hi guys! Here's a few peeks at the Paper Bag Album using Heidi Grace's Sweet Whimsey collection. I've been struggling to finish this album because I'm not sure what I want it to look like yet. As you can see, the cover is unfinished. After giving myself two months to figure "it" out without any success, I'm going to walk away from this project and start a new project. :)

Hmm...Adam's Art Journal?

Hi everyone! I hope you're ready for the upcoming long weekend; I know I am!

Today, I gave Adam, my son, a small notebook, some gelly pens, and some stickers. Here is what he created. I'm going to call this his "art journal". hehe :)

This is the first page. I love the layering; gelly pen doodles, then topped with stickers and then some more gelly pen doodles over the stickers. It was so cute, he looked at me and asked if it was okay if he could use the gelly pen over the stickers. hehe I told him he could do what he wants, as long as it's on the papers (and not the walls <-- I left this part out, didn't want to give him any ideas).
This is the second page. Wow, if only I could whip out LOs this fast! While doing this page, Adam asked me where our "heart" is [located]. I pointed to my heart to show him. With this, he gave the little green man on the left page a blue heart. His curiosity amazed me, and melted my "heart".

Thanks for stopping by!

Busy like a BEE!

It's so true...time flies when you're having fun! I've been (slowly) working on the girl paper bag mini album, and I'm happy to say it's almost done! I will share photos real soon. :)

Today, it's all about ribbon flowers. I wanted to share an awesome ribbon flower tutorial from youtube member: worker4ever123. Please check it out and give it a try!

Here's my attempt(s) at it using 5/8" satin ribbon.

Have a great week!

More Paper Bag Mini Albums to come...

I have a request for 2 paper bag albums; one for a girl and one for a boy. I've already picked out the paper collection for the girl album..it's going to be Heidi Grace's Sweet Whimsey collection. I'm not sure what papers I'm going to use for the boy. When I was browsing online, almost every boy paper collections are for babies! I'm looking for something for a teenage boy...a little distressed but not too serious.

I'm currently working on the girl paper bag album. Hopefully, I'll finish this one a lot faster than my first one. :) Please check back soon for sneak peaks!

Card: Happy Birthday Nolan

Here's a card I made for our friend's son 1st birthday. I cut the pig out using my Big Shot with Sizzix's Pig # 2 die and used chalk to color in his cheeks and ears. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

12 X 12 Layout: Valentines 2010

I made this LO a few weeks ago, but didn't get a chance to post it. This LO is about our Valentines Day. The papers and rub-ons are from BoBunny's Love Bandit collection.

There's a pink envelope below our picture, which actually has a "love" note inside. I wanted to journal on the LO and keep the message private at the same time. The envelope was the perfect solution! :)

Project Update

Hi guys!

I wanted to give you an update on what I've been working on. I actually have 2 projects in the works:

Project # 1: Christmas 2009 mini album
Project # 2: Paper bag mini album

I am really excited about my paper bag mini album! I've seen so many great paper bag mini albums and always thought to myself, "I would love to make that someday". Well, it's about time I give it a try. I'm about half way done and will post pictures as soon as I'm finished.

What have you been working on?

12 X 12 Layout: Aaden's first hair cut

Happy Father's Day!!!
I hope you are having fun with all the Fathers in your life. :)

Here's a LO of Aaden's first hair cut. I had a lot of circles on this LO for a softer look. My LO tends to be very squarish, so I wanted a different angle. I love the little scissor embellishment! It's a chipboard from Maya Road. I added a little paint and it was good to go. Thanks for stopping by!

12 X 12 Layout: Aaden's first solid food

Hi! I am so happy to be home after a long day at work. While I enjoy what I do during the day, I really look forward to some crafty time at night! I try to squeeze 30 minutes of artsy time each night, but it doesn't always work out. Also, I'm a slooow scrapper, so it literally takes days for me to finish a layout. BUT I enjoy the process and the end product! :) hehe

Tonight, I wanted to share a layout of Aaden's first solid food. This is going into his 'milestone' album. Thanks for looking!

Handmade Lollipop Flowers

Okay, here's another flower I made from watching Arlene's youtube tutorial. I am having way too much fun with these!!!! I can't wait to use these on a LO or a card!

My first completed lollipop flower. hehe

I love the look of feathers behind the flower, but it just reminds me of my pet bird. :( So, I decided to dress these flowers up with some beautiful Prima ribbon and tulle. :)

Again, a special thanks to Arlene not only for the tutorial, but the inspiration!!!!

***PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE***
I bought the satin fabric from Joann's. Please check both sides of the fabric to make sure they have a sheen. The fabric I bought is shiny on one side and looks like cotton on the other side. That will not work for this project!

Organza Ribbon Flowers

I want to say a big "THANK YOU" to Arlene at butterflykisseswithlove.blogspot.com. After watching her youtube tutorial, I gave the Organza Ribbon Flowers a try. After my first completed flower, I was hooked! With every completed flower, I feel a bit happier! Arlene, you are so right when you said making the flowers is therapeutic.

Please check out her youtube tutorials (mybutterflykisses12). They're great!

For the flower center, I used Prima's Say It In Pearls Centers. Thanks for looking!

12 X 12 Layout: Easter 2010

Easter was super fun to scrap! I made a LO for each of my boys because it's going into their individual special events/milestone album. I felt challenged when I did these LOs because I used the same paper collection for both boys. I made sure the LOs did not look the same.

Here's a better photo of this layout.

Card: It's a Boy!

My kids have been sick the past few days and today they are doing a lot better. So that means I got to squeeze in some scrappy time!

This week, we're going to a party to celebrate a baby boy's 1-month into this world. I don't know what it is about babies, but looking at them gives me hope and joy. :) Here's a card I made for the party.

When I was looking for embellishments, I found so many Jolee's stickers. I thought I'll put some to use on this card. When I started scrapbooking, I thought Jolee's stickers were the best thing in the world (that's because I only shopped at Micheal's). That all changed when I found and walked into my first local scrapbooking store! hehe
